The Paramount Theater (December)

The Paramount Theater is located at 215 East Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902 on the pedestrian Downtown Mall. Box Office hours are typically Monday–Friday, 10 AM–2 PM, and open one hour before showtime for ticketing and assistance. Allow extra time before the event for parking and entry, especially during peak downtown hours.

Parking Options:

Although there is no dedicated Paramount parking lot, parking options nearby include:

  • Market Street Garage and Water Street Garage — Convenient municipal garages within a short walk of the theater. Many lots accept the ParkMobile app, and the first hour of parking may be free in some garages.

  • Street Parking — Limited metered spaces are available around the Downtown Mall area.

  • Private Lots — Several private and surface lots around East Main and adjacent streets. Rates vary and are set by the lot operators.

  • If you require accessible parking, consider spaces in nearby garages or downtown ADA-designated spots; these are first-come, first-served.

First Presbyterian Church’s main entrance is located at 500 Park Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902. Accessible entrance is from the ADA parking lot immediately adjacent to the church. Ushers will be on hand to direct guests to the most convenient door. If you have mobility needs or require additional assistance, please arrive a few minutes early or contact TOSVA in advance — we’re happy to help.

Parking near the church includes:

  • Lower Lot (off 7th Street NE): Open to all visitors and a short walk to the sanctuary.

  • Upper Lot: Closest to the sanctuary and reserved for guests with walking impairments.

  • Street Parking: Available on surrounding streets; pay attention to posted signs.

  • Downtown Parking Garages: Several municipal garages nearby (e.g., Market Street and Water Street Garages) offer additional parking within walking distance if lots fill up.

The concert hall entrance and lobby are accessed via a ramp from the Lawn level, and staff will be available to assist with directions and seating. Allow extra time before showtime for navigating campus pathways and finding parking. Parking Options:

  • Central Grounds Garage (Emmet Street) — A public, hourly parking garage convenient to the Lawn and controlled through ParkMobile. Visitor parking here is widely recommended for concerts on campus.

  • C-1 Parking Lot (Cabell Drive / McCormick Road) — Closest surface lot to Old Cabell Hall; permit parking is usually enforced, but DMV-issued disability placards are honored in accessible spaces when available. Outside university sessions the parking is free.

  • Other Grounds options — Metered and surface lots at various points along McCormick Road and near UVA facilities offer additional paid parking.

  • Note: Many campus lots require a UVA permit during the day; restrictions often ease after 5 PM and on weekends, but posted signs should be checked on arrival

Accessibility

Old Cabell Hall provides accessible pathways from the Lawn via a ramp to the lobby entrance and designated accessible seating inside the auditorium.
