Christmas at the Paramount
A compilation of archived performances from our annual holiday favorite
Originally released Saturday, December 19th, 2020
Thank you for joining us for our first – and hopefully, final – digital Christmas performance. We hope you enjoy!
We are able to bring the transformative power and joy of choral singing to our community thanks to the generosity of the many who give to us each year. Additionally, robust ticket sales at this event are a significant source of annual support. In lieu of buying a ticket, we hope you will put The Oratorio Society on your giving list this year, and choose to make a tax-deductible donation today.

About the Event
The Oratorio Society’s mission, to celebrate the transformative power and joy of choral singing, may find its most prevalent meaning during the holiday season, when we all come together in shared gratitude for our innate human connections. Each year, at this event, we aim to provide something for everyone!
This year’s compilation will include several shorter, festive songs, as well as an extended work for chorus, orchestra and soloist that will give you the time to really sink in to the music. And since no Christmas at the Paramount – live or digital – would be complete without a sing-along, we’ll have one or two familiar favorites on which you can join in.
All performances and commentary you will hear have been pre-recorded, assembled, and will be broadcast in real-time on YouTube Live, so even though we won’t be in the concert hall, we will still be hearing the same music together. This event will be free and open to the public, with the option to offer a voluntary donation to The Oratorio Society of Virginia.
We hope you will join us for our first – and hopefully, final – digital presentation of Christmas at the Paramount this Saturday. Because more is always merrier, please invite all of your friends, family, and loved ones. We look forward to singing for you!

Do you like what you’re hearing from us?
Thanks to the generosity of many, The Oratorio Society of Virginia has had the privilege of serving our community by sharing the transformative power and joy of choral singing for over 50 years. Even in light of public health restrictions, due to COVID-19, we will continue to carry this mission forward by offering digital concert and lecture experiences throughout the year, until we can safely welcome our community back to the concert hall. It is thanks to your support that we are able to do this. Please consider making a tax-deductible gift today!
