With a combination of over 150 voices, The UVA University Singers and The Oratorio Society of Virginia join to present Charlottesville's first full-length performance of one of the choral repertoire's most profound, timelessly poignant works: Sergei Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil, commonly known as 'Vespers.'

Set in the beautifully renovated St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Charlottesville, this once in a decade performance is a true opportunity for all to connect with something much bigger than oneself. We look forward to welcoming you to the audience!

Young Listener Policy

The Oratorio Society believes that there is no age at which you cannot be moved by beautiful choral music. Given the length and profundity of this particular performance, however, we do not recommend that children under 6 years of age attend this event in-person. If you are unsure whether your child will enjoy a 90-minute concert in a quiet listening environment, without intermission, we suggest that you consider our live stream option.

COVID Safety

In keeping with current guidelines, masks will not be required for audience members at this performance, though they are still strongly recommended. For those who wish for extra protection, we will reserve one section of seats where full-time masking is required. There are no assigned seats for this performance, so seating is not distanced. If you are experiencing any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19, please stay home and listen to the performance via live stream.
