Chorus Auditions for the 2011-2012 Season

Interested singers in all voice parts are invited and encouraged to audition to be a part of the chorus for our exciting 2011-2012 season! Chorus members will have weekly rehearsals with renowned conductor Michael Slon in preparation for concerts under his direction in December, March and May.

Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., beginning September 19, 2011.

AUDITIONS DATES AND TIMES

Wednesday, September 7, 2011 — 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
Thursday, September 15, 2011 — 7:30 to 10:00 p.m.

WHERE

Auditions are held at the Municipal Arts Center in Charlottesville. Ample free parking is available behind the MAC building.

AUDITION PROCESS

Auditions will take approximately 15 minutes, and will consist of simple exercises to determine vocal range, as well as sight-reading, pitch matching, and rhythmic skills. Prospective singers need not prepare anything in advance, but may bring an optional prepared solo if they wish. All singers will hear back from us within a few days of their audition.
